After retrieving all six Deeplake Relics from doing UMV dives in the POLUT Underwater Mining Lab, Cephalops is found inside the Deeplake Tomb as a Set Encounter. After the battle ends, the game will show the stats page of the caught Cephalops if applicable and allow the player to rollback their progress if the result is not satisfactory, restoring all items used in the battle and returning the player's Loomians to the state they were in before the battle, thus giving the player another chance to catch Cephalops. This also applies when the player runs from the battle. Once the player decides that they are satisfied with the results from the battle, Cephalops will no longer be available as a Set Encounter and will instead roam with an extremely scarce chance to be encountered in the wild.
Attacks marked with [ATB] belong to the same type as Cephalops and will be increased in power by 25% when used. Moves marked in italics mean that only an evolution or alternate form of Cephalops will receive the afore-mentioned power boost.
By Rallying[]
As Cephalops is a Roaming Loomian, it can only learn the following moves from the Rally Leader while being the Rally Assistant with an open move slot.

Characteristics[]
The upper part of Cephalops' body resembles the mantle of a squid and has two feelers on it. Its body is primarily black, with some tints of green luminescence. It has two limbs that have sharp, white claws on them, and four smaller limbs serving as legs. Additionally, on its head rests one large, green eye.
Origin[]
Given Cephalops' typing, its signature move of staring into souls, and its ability to haunt dreams, Cephalops may take inspiration from the Great Old Ones of Lovecraftian Mythos, in particular Cthulhu. It also may be based off of mutant sea monsters from popular culture, such as Cthulhu and Kanaloa. Its name is a portmanteau of cephalopod, a class of the Phylum Mollusca, referring to its appearance, and cyclops, a one eyed monster from Greek Mythology, referring to the singular eye in the middle of its head. Cephalops' cannibalistic tendencies and behavior of dying after laying eggs are accurate to the majority of real-world octopus species; however, its possession of a skeleton is inaccurate to real cephalopods.
Description[]
The Loomipedia entry for Cephalops in each installment of Loomian Legacy is listed as follows:
This Loomian lives in the deepest parts of the ocean, only surfacing to lay their eggs. After the eggs are laid, the mother dies and the new hatchlings feed upon the remains of the mother.
Cephalops is available in all games of the Loomian Legacy series.

Miscellaneous

Cephalops hatchlings inside their eggs in Deeplake Tomb.
Cephalops's set encounter is resettable, thus giving the player another chance to catch Cephalops. All items that were used during the battle would be restored when doing so.
Cephalops is the first Roaming Loomian to have a gender.
This is possibly due to the fact that its Loomipedia entry states that Cephalops has a mother, which has to be female in this case.
A deceased Cephalops of considerable size can be found behind Cephalops in Deeplake Tomb. This is likely the mother of the one in the set encounter, as it is said in the Loomipedia entry that the hatchlings feast on the mother.
Cephalops currently has the highest base Health stat in the game so far, having a base Health stat of 164.
For 2021 April Fools' Day, developer tbradm had a Cephalops whose in-game model was much smaller than usual.
Halloween Cephalops has a different idle and run animation than the normal version.
