Grimyuline is likely based off of the Yule cat, a giant and vicious cat from Icelandic folklore who prowled the countryside and ate those who didn't receive new clothing before Christmas Eve, mirroring Grimyuline's behavior of chasing and biting players in the maze and its Loomipedia entry. It may also be based off the concept of a mimic, specifically mimicking a Christmas Tree. It also appears to be inspired by the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland. Its name may be derived from "grim," referring to its Dark-typing, "grimace," due to its large, toothy smile, "yule," from Yule cat, “yuletide”, which links to its association with Christmas, and "feline."
Description[]
The Loomipedia entry for Grimyuline in each installment of Loomian Legacy is listed as follows:
Grimyuline are creatures known only in local legends told in Jolly Village. Stories say that this creature stalks its prey and attacks those who did not receive new clothes as a present during the Holidays.
Grimyuline is available in all games of the Loomian Legacy series.
Grimyuline's set encounter was resettable, thus giving the player another chance to catch Grimyuline. All items that were used during the battle would be restored when doing so.
Grimyuline is one of two Loomians to have a jumpscare in the Jolly Village Frozen Forest Maze, with the other one being the Lumberjack Ursoul reskin.
Additionally, it is one of three Loomians to appear in the Frozen Forest Maze, the others being Festifir and the aforementioned Lumberjack Ursoul reskin.
