Gym Rats is a training gymnasium in Sepharite City. Its entrance is located opposite to the Sepharite Battle Theatre.

Description

The Gym Rats building is a small, rectangular shaped room. There are people lifting weights along the sides. Near the back wall, there is a large square mat, where a punching bag hangs from the ceiling.

Heavy Bag Quests

A man standing near the punching bag offers the player a chance to win a Protein Shake if they are able to knock out the Heavy Bag in five turns or less. After completing the challenge, the player is offered another challenge to defeat the Heavy Bag in one turn, being awarded 5 Boost Tokens if successful.

Note: The Heavy Bag cannot be caught. It can be re-battled as many times as desired. It has 322 Health, equivalent to having 40 UPs or 160 TPs in the Health stat. It cannot be afflicted by non-volatile status ailments. It is only weak to Brawler-type moves. It has the Dummy Ability, and Ability Thief and Talent Trade will have no effect on it. If Impersonate is used on the Heavy Bag, the Loomian will use Strike.

Trivia

• The Heavy Bag internally has Strike as its only move. However, it has the Dummy Ability, making it unable to use Strike in battle.
  • If a Loomian summoned Dense Fog, the Heavy Bag's Ability would be suppressed and it would actually begin to use Strike. This has since been fixed in an unknown update.
  • If the Heavy Bag is emulated by a Loomian, the emulating Loomian will only have Strike in its movepool and will be unable to attack with it due to the Heavy Bag's Ability.
• The Gym Rats logo may be a reference to the Apple Cat Meme.
• The Heavy Bag had a chance to appear as Gleaming or Corrupt with their respective rarities, though its appearance did not change. This may have been due to the Loomipedia registering it as a Loomian, but it is unknown if this was intentional. Since an unknown update, it is no longer possible to encounter a Gleaming or Corrupt Heavy Bag.
• When fighting the Heavy Bag, the music that plays when battling a Battle Star will play.
• The Heavy Bag cannot be afflicted by status ailments, and as such is immune to Raging Flame, Hypnotize, Poison, Toxic Spores, Static Spores, Stun, and Bitter Cold.
