Haunted Village is an event-exclusive Halloween-themed version of Jolly Village and was the main hub for the 2023 Halloween Event.

Notable Events[]

Upon entering for the first time, the player is greeted by Dr. Haloine who explains that they were selected to help deal with his latest nightmare, this time in a place he used to visit with his family. He informs the player that there is a witch in the forest, most likely causing this nightmare, and how you need the key to unlock that area of the forest.

Catching Odoyaga[]

After obtaining the Haunted Gate Key, the player can unlock a path leading to a witch's cottage. Upon entering, the player can talk to the witch, who accidentally spills some of her ingredients in her cauldron, causing a strange spirit to appear. The spirit will lead the player to a room to play a game. They will be tasked with spotting and clicking on the differences that the spirit creates in various rooms. If the player makes three mistakes or leaves the room prematurely, the room will reset. After solving five of these puzzles, the spirit leads the player down into a room housing a large mortar surrounded by candles. Upon approaching it, the spirit creates a summoning circle around the mortar and the player and has enough life force to take on its true form, Odoyaga. When the player interacts with Odoyaga, they will start a battle between them, and the player will have a chance to catch Odoyaga. When the battle ends, the player is given a choice: if they want to redo the battle or if they are satisfied with the results of the battle. If the player is satisfied, they will no longer be able to redo the battle, and their game will be saved.

Haunted Dreams Raid Battle[]

Main article: Raid Battle

After obtaining the Haunted Gate Key and unlocking the path to the witch's cottage, a mysterious door becomes available to the player. When talking to the door, it asks the player to bring it 25 Treats. After doing so, the door opens and unlocks the Haunted Dreams Raid Battle where players can battle the Soul Burst form of Metronette, Willbound Metronette. Players can either team up with another player in the same server or enter in solo and team up with either Lucas, Lucy or Jake. The raid has two difficulties, being Normal and Nightmare. Nightmare is unlocked after defeating the Normal difficulty. Defeating the Normal difficulty gives a Metroburst and defeating the Nightmare difficulty gives a Metronette Saddle W.

Minigame[]

Tricky Treat Exchange[]

Tricky Treat Exchange

The Tricky Treat Exchange playing area

A portal in the central area of the village allows players to teleport to the Tricky Treat Exchange minigame, a Halloween-ified version of the Great Gift Exchange minigame from Jolly Village. A single minigame can be played with up to 8 players, with the remaining spots being replaced by NPCs found all over Roria. This minigame consists of eight bags, with each bag containing, from lowest to highest value, a Trick, 2–12 Treats, and a Haunted Gate Key. During some minigames, a randomly selected bag's prize will be replaced with the Baba Disc. Treats can be traded for items in Dr. Haloine's Sweet Exchange. The Haunted Gate Key unlocks the gate to the witch's cottage where Odoyaga can be encountered as well as a mysterious door which asks for Treats. If the player gets the Haunted Gate Key in the minigame after already obtaining one, they will be rewarded with 15 Treats instead. However, if the player has already obtained the Haunted Gate Key, its bag will be replaced with a Boost Token that can be obtained once a day. The objective of the game is to end up with the bag that has the highest value.

The players sit in a circle, with each player starting with a bag. Before the round starts, the players are given an opportunity to peek at any other bag that is not currently in their possession. The players have three tries to steal their desired bag or protect their own bag before the game ends and the items are distributed, and a hint is given before each try about the contents of certain bags. Players can choose their stealing level in each round, ranging from 1 to 3, and select a bag to steal (or protect if it is their current bag). Once a certain stealing level is used, it cannot be used again in subsequent rounds. If two or more people choose the same bag, then the person with the highest stealing level gets the bag. If the highest stealing level is achieved by multiple people, then the original recipient will keep the bag unless they successfully swap bags with another person.

Below is a table of the possible hints:

Hint Meaning (if different)

Trivia[]

  • In the house where the Tricky Treat Exchange takes place, there is a llama in a toy train driving around a Leshent. This references Llama Train Studio, the team behind the Loomian Legacy franchise.
  • Haunted Village and Jolly Village are the only event locations to house a Loomian Goods store.
    • The Loomian Goods store in Haunted Village is Halloween-ified, with orange walls, many Halloween-themed decorations, and a witch taking the place of the shop clerk.
  • Even if the player had not yet obtained a Boost Token in the Tricky Treat Exchange for the day, the hints will still refer to it as a Key.
  • If Jake is an NPC in the Tricky Treat Exchange minigame, he will always be wearing a Metronette costume.
  • In the village, there are several abnormally bent signs warning the player about low-flying Shawchis in the area with a silhouette that looks to resemble Halloween Shawchi.
    • One of these signs has written on the back of it, "note: Don't forgor to refill candy bowl -mom".
