“It's okay. Let's just say that I'm sort of stuck, and I'm looking for a way out of a tough situation.” – Jake, POLUT Campus
Jake is a major character who appears in Loomian Legacy - Veils of Shadow. He is a young trainer who is trying to find his way home. Along with Tess, he is one of the only characters returning directly from Pokémon Brick Bronze, the prequel to Loomian Legacy, and as such his presence ties the two stories together. During the first encounter between him and the player, Jake was referred to as the Mysterious Trainer.
In the prequel game Pokémon Brick Bronze, Jake was the player's childhood friend and main rival. He followed the player around, occasionally battling them. He was seen as a generally carefree and fun person. However, he was later asked by an interdimensional detective named Looker to help take down Team Eclipse, and in Anthian City he let himself get captured by them. He went undercover, pretending to join them with the intention to foil their plans. Unfortunately, he was unable to stop Team Eclipse from achieving their goal of resurrecting "the Evil Djinn", and later sacrificed himself in the process of saving his friend Tess, being sucked into a portal created by the Evil Djinn.
His fate was left unknown until the Worlds Apart trailer, where it was revealed that he was dropped into Mitis Town in the Loomian Legacy universe. After befriending an Embit, he began looking for a way back to his home, the Pokémon universe.[1]
Loomian Legacy[]
In the events of Loomian Legacy - Veils of Shadow, Jake travels to Galvanite Cave upon learning of a crystal which could be used as an energy source, planning to steal it for his own use. He pretends to be the trainer sent by Battle Star Naya and slips past the workers, but is confronted by the player who goes to the cave following Naya's instructions after defeating her. The worker realizes that Jake should not be in the cave, and a battle between Jake and the player ensues. After his loss, Jake departs without the crystal, which is still intact.
When the player heads to POLUT Campus for a tour with Mabel and her friends, he sees the player and apologizes about the incident in Galvanite Cave, introducing himself as Jake. The player, who was going on a tour in POLUT Corp. with Mabel and her friends, allows Jake to come along. During the conversation, Mabel shows several signs of being interested in Jake, but he appears oblivious to Mabel's advances. After the player explains the situation to Jake, he remarks that this reminded him of his friend, which is believed to be referencing the main protagonist of Pokémon Brick Bronze, and decides to help the player achieve their goal of locating all missing stone tablets.
While the player is battling in the Sepharite Battle Theatre, Jake sneaks into the secret POLUT Corp. headquarters and witnesses Dr. Vanta's plan for the third stone tablet. He manages to escape the POLUT Corp. guards and during his escape gives the player a POLUT Silver Keycard to help them infiltrate into the building, before running away to avoid being caught by the security guards of POLUT Corp.
Jake escapes to Route 8, where he meets up with Mabel, Lucy and Lucas. The player soon arrives and a man walks up to the group with a Loomian following him, explaining that he needs a trainer to take the Loomian. When the Loomian leaps towards Mabel, Jake encourages her to take the Loomian. Mabel wanted to name the Loomian after Jake, but eventually changed her mind and named it Starla.
Appearance[]
Jake looks similar to his counterpart in Brick Bronze, with spiky black hair and yellow eyes. He still sports the Team Eclipse uniform with a red shirt and torn black cloth on top with black pants. He also wears a pair of black fingerless gloves and red shoes. However, in the Loomian Legacy universe, Jake is modeled in an Rthro look: a stark contrast to his Brick Bronze self, where characters were modeled in R6".
In Variable Design in Atlanthian City, the player can choose Jake a new outfit from five options that are presented. It is unknown how long he will wear this costume for throughout the story.
Personality[]
Jake is shown to have his own moral code, stealing items when necessary. However, he still wants to do the right thing, such as helping the player in POLUT Corp. Jake is still kind and has encouraged Mabel to overcome her insecurities. He has developed a determination to return to his original universe, but he has not mentioned this to the player or other characters. Like his counterpart in PBB, Jake believes fear is a handicap that deters players from achieving their goal. However, unlike in PBB, he does not believe in physical strength, but instead believes in making choices that can determine the future of a person.
Relationships[]
Player[]
Jake seems to show great respect to the player and their goals. He also remarks on how the player’s bravery reminds him of an old friend, referring to the player in Pokémon Brick Bronze Universe. He later promises to assist the player after their meeting at the POLUT Corp.
Mabel, Lucy and Lucas[]
Jake meets Mabel, Lucy and Lucas in POLUT Campus, where Mabel takes a special interest in him. Jake talks about how the player reminded him of an old friend, who faced similar problems. He decides to help the player after this. He later also helps Mabel overcome her own insecurities about Loomian training by sharing his own story. They are all now part of a group traveling with the player.
Dialogue[]
Galvanite Cave
“The power... I need it.”
“My name is not important. I'm trying to find my way home. You might say I'm not from around here.”
“The talk in town is that this crystal, if harvested properly, could power a city for a century. I need that kind of energy... If I ever hope to get back home, I'm going to need this crystal.” (Learns about the crystal from worker)
“I see. So you must be the special trainer, then?”
“I am a trainer myself. I'm not the most experienced, but I'm learning all I can! What do you say we have a battle, for educational purposes?”
“So? Do we have a battle? Alright, let the battle begin.” (Initiates battle)
“Amazing! You certainly are a strong trainer, just like a friend of mine.”
“You know, I was really hoping this crystal would solve all my problems. This world seems so large and mysterious. There has to be an answer for me out there, I just have to keep looking.”
“Thank you for that battle.I bid you both farewell.”
POLUT Campus Visit
“Hey wait a minute, I know you!” (Runs to the player)
“Long time no see! It's Player, right? We met in Galvanite Cave. I'm sorry about that whole ordeal. I wasn't quite feeling myself... I hope you are able to put that behind us and start over again?” (Gets greeted by Mabel)
“Oh, that's right! I never introduced myself. My name is Jake. And uh, your names?” (Gets asked about his relationship with the player)
“Actually, we haven't exactly hung out. We've only really met once, and we battled. As much as I hate to admit, I lost the battle. We went our separate ways after that.” (Gets asked why he is at POLUT Campus)
“Well, I came to check out POLUT Corp. headquarters. Word has it that they are leagues ahead of the world in technological advancements. I was hoping they would be able to help me out with a certain... predicament” (Gets invited to tour)
“A tour? Yeah, that would work perfectly. That will also allow me to check the place out thoroughly.” (Gets complimented by Mabel)
“Oh, haha okay.”
Lunch Break
“From what [Player] said, the broken pieces of the stone tablet are definitely connected to corrupt Loomians.”
“In my experience, these sorts of things happens as a result of someone meddling with powers that should have been left alone.”
“It's kinda complicated. I'd rather not talk about it right now.”
“It's okay. Let's just say that I'm sort of stuck, and I'm looking for a way out of a tough situation.”
“That is true.
I can't believe that you're collecting those tablets all by yourself. Your bravery is inspiring!
I had a friend who was once faced with similar choices. You reminded me a lot of them.
...
It's tough being the hero all alone. That's why I've decided... I want to help you.
I've been running into dead ends in my personal endeavors. It feels pretty hopeless. But after hearing your story, (player)... I almost feel like... I'm meant to be here.
Please, allow me to help you in any way I can.”
“Wait, what's wrong?”
“I'm sorry, that sounds awful. There was a time when I also thought of myself as a failure. Heck, I used to be a no-good coward. I believed I was weak, and because of it, I became weak.
Then something happened to someone I cared about. I had to make a choice. I could either run away and remain weak, or let go of the past and take control of my future. I made my decision, casting all fear and doubt aside.
In the end, I was able to save them...
...Or at least, I think I did. That part is still a mystery but I have faith it turned out well in end.
Anyways, my point is, you decide your future. Whether you can or can't do something is up to you. Letting your past steer your future with fear will only result in more regret for your decisions.”
“Like I said, that part is complicated. But that's not the takeaway.”
“Well, there you have it, (player). Anything you need, we'll help get it done.”
“Yeah, that's a good idea. Let's do that really quickly.”
“Alright, I think that's everyone.”
Infiltrating POLUT Campus
“Uh oh, I better hide!”
“I can't believe I was able to sneak in this far. This room is the deepest into the facility I can go.”
“Wait, that chunk of stone over there in that case... That must be the one Player mentioned before. What are they doing with it?”
“Wait, that's the owner of POLUT Corp. We ran into him at the end of our tour.”
“I wonder what sort of "awakening" they are talking about. Dr. Vanta wants to raise an army of dark-energy-enhanced Loomians, and sell them for profit? This sounds bad.”
“I need to get out of here and tell Player about all of this.” (Runs out of POLUT Campus)
“Oh good, it's you, Player! I don't have time to explain everything right now. Take this keycard, and do whatever you can to stop Dr. Vanta.”
“POLUT Corp. is not who they appear to be on the surface. Sneak into their private testing lab, and you'll see what I mean.”
“You can stop them. I have to go now, but I will be seeing you again.”
Route 8
At the pier
“Well, let's just say I have a sense for when something is amiss. I knew something wasn't right about POLUT Corp. after our tour. I took it upon myself to investigate deeper, and didn't want to drag you all into it.”
“Thanks, Mabel.”
“Heh, yeah. It was pretty risky, I guess. I'm just glad that [Player] showed up as I was escaping.” (Turns to Player)
“So, were you able to stop them?”
“You confronted their boss and defeated their new Loomian? That's amazing! I knew I could count on you.”
“Anyway, it sounds like POLUT Corp. had their own piece of that cursed stone, and was using it to power up their Loomian. I'm glad that [Player] was able to secure it and sent it to the Loomian Laboratory of Roria. We still don't know where the remaining pieces of the stone are. We also don't know why they have that dark aura. For now, we should continue traveling until we hear news about the next stone's location.”
“Okay, let's go to Atlanthian City, then. How do we get there?”
“All right, I'm sold. Let's head over there ri--”
“Mabel, this is perfect.”
“Remember how you said you were done feeling like a failure? You said that you would prove to your mother that you aren't a failure. I think this could be your next step towards that future!”
“I think you should accept this Loomian as your partner and become a Loomian trainer. It seems to really like you, and you could use a companion Loomian.”
“So what if you do? Each of us make mistakes all the time. Thats just a natural part of being a Loomian Trainer. Come to think of it, that's part of being human. And this time, you have the support of your friends to help you along! I now your mother was tough on you, and may have made you feel like making mistakes meant that you were a failure. But we are here for you. No matter what.”
“That's right. So, what do you say, Mabel?”
“Glad to hear it, Mabel!”
“Alright now, what's this little one's name?”
“Well then, Mabel, how about you name it?”
“Excellent! Mabel and Starla are partners from this day forward. You'll learn to battle together, and eventually gather more Loomians by your side.”
“Well then, it sounds like we're finally ready to continue our adventure. We should prepare to travel onward to Atlanthian City.” (Turns to Lucas)
“Yeah, I already checked it out. There's a laboratory run by POLUT Corp. out on the lake. I stopped by, and it looked safe, in case you wanted to check it out. Apparently they let anybody who walks in search the bottom of the lake for some rare artifacts.”
“Oh yeah, before I forget, I've got something for you, [Player].” (Gives Fishing Rod to Player)
“I picked it up at the fishing shop as a thank you for helping me earlier. I heard you can find a lot of strong Loomians in lakes and streams. You just need to approach some water, and interact with it to use the rod.”
“That sounds like a good idea. I think we'll go ahead and wait for you there, [Player], in case you wanted to do any exploring.”
Lotusun Beach
Beach Gate
“I don't think we have time to relax right now. Maybe after we've helped [Player] find all the remaining chunks of the stone tablet.”
“[Player]! You finally made it! Now that we're all here, we should talk about how we're going to Atlanthian City. Lucy just mentioned that the only way into the city is via submarine transportation.”
“Yeah, I haven't heard a single peep from it.”
“Oh, by the way, [Player]. Has your father talked to you about any more potential stone locations?”
“...”
“So you still haven't heard from him?”
“Well, I guess we can ask around once we get to the city, and see if anyone has heard anything.”
“So where exactly do we go from here?”
“That sounds simple enough.”
“Let's go ahead and make our way there.”
“We'll meet you at the docks, [Player].”
At the Dock
“No way, you mean we can't just buy a ticket right here and now?”
“We can't just give up on Atlanthian City.”
“We've come this far already.”
“Surely there must be another way?”
“Thank you for the tip, sir.”
Dive n' Dine
“Hello, Mr. Ferrix. My name is Jake, and these are my friends.”
“All of us came by to ask you a question.”
“We heard that you own the business that handles transportation to and from Atlanthian City.”
“This is actually why we are here.”
“You see, we're on an important mission and we need to reach Atlanthian City.”
“The problem is, we don't have tickets.”
“That information is a bit sensitive at the moment.”
“All I can say right now is that it's very important that we reach all corners of Roria collecting information before potential disaster strikes.”
“Sir, I'm not lying about our intentions.”
“We really need tickets to reach Atlanthian City.”
“I understand, sir.”
“We are sorry for taking your time.”
“[Player], let's regroup outside and figure out what to do from here.”
Corrupt Samarine Attack
“What is that thing?”
“This isn't looking good, [Player].”
“That girl needs help right now.”
“I think there is enough time for one of us to run down and help her.”
“You should be the one to go, [Player].”
“Alright, now. Be quick!”
“Those Loomians could strike any moment.”
Reuniting at the Dock
“[Player] is a really talented trainer!”
“I had no doubt that [Player] would be able to stop that Loomian.”
“Well, we'd like to, but we still have no way to get there.”
“That pass says it's for Platinum VIP Members... Sounds fancy.”
“Quite a bit, actually...”
“We can talk about it on the way, though.”
“We managed to get passes to travel to Atlanthian City!”
“I'm so hyped to finally visit Atlanthian City!”
“It feels like I've waited a year for this moment.”
“Let's not dawdle any longer.”
In Submarine
“Sooo... Why exactly is there an entire city under the ocean?”
“I can't believe it... nobody was there to save it...”
“I used to think that learning history was boring, but it's starting to grow on me.”
“Anyways, we should start planning what we'll do when we arrive in Atlanthian City.”
“[Player], you should call your dad when we get there and check whether he detects anything.”
“Hopefully that will help us narrow down our search.”
“If there is a piece of that stone down there, we should try to find it before anything bad happens.”
“So far, the corrupted chunks have either been discovered by accident, and caused havoc in the areas which they landed.”
“Or, they have been taken and used by malicious purposes.”
“That's right, Lucy.”
“There is nothing to fear as long as we work together.”
“So let's put our trust in each other and get those remaining pieces back.”
“Everyone ready?”
“Let's do this!”
Atlanthian City - Transit Hub
After arriving
“So this is Atlanthian City, huh?”
“Whoa, what is going on?”
“What just happened?! It sounded like the city was under attack!”
“Oh, thanks for the heads up.”
“Okay, let's go take a look at the map and figure out where we are.”
At the map
“Okay, so right now we are standing in the Transit Hub. All of the submarines which take people to and from Atlanthian City come through here.”
“Oh, I see. So the city is split into two major districts.”
“This city is pretty big. It looks like there are a lot of places to search.”
“[Player], now would be a good time to call up your parents and see if they have any advice on where to start looking.”
“And I'm Jake.”
“We've heard about your predicament with the corrupted stone tablet and decided to team up with [Player] to help get them back.”
“Well, that's actually why we called. We heard from [Player] that you are tracking the potential locations of the remaining chunks of the stone tablet. We wanted to know if you could scan for signs that there may be a piece in or around Atlanthian City.”
“We can hang out around the city and look for anything suspicious while we wait.”
“Okay. We can cover more ground if we split up, but we need to be careful.”
“That's actually not a bad idea. I wouldn't mind some new clothes to help me fit in better.”
“What about you, [Player]? Where do you want to go?”
“Alright, lead the way.”
Variable Design
“I know. I guess I'm just pickier than I thought I was.”
“Oh yeah! I bet [Player] knows a lot about fashion!” (Presents the player with four emojis to respond with)
“Oh, uh... No, that's not what I meant. I just think it would be better to have two opinions. That's all. I have selected a few outfits to try out. Follow me to the back and let's see what you think of each of them.”
“Sorry, almost done. These pants are a bit snug.”
“Well, what do you think?” (Opens the closet door and reveals the first outfit)
“Yeah, it kind of has the same vibe, but it's much more comfortable.”
“Alright, just a minute.” (Closes closet door)
“How about this one?” (Opens the closet door and reveals the second outfit)
“It's part of the "Swag Bundle"... or something like that. The sign next to it said it's discounted if I buy it as a bundle. I think it's dicounted because it went out of style a couple years ago. Say no more. I'll go try another one on.”
“Be back in a minute” (Closes closet door)
“Howdy!” (Opens the closet door and reveals the third outfit)
“Oh come on, it's comfy...”
“Well, what do you think, [Player]?” (Presents the player with two options, "Yeehaw" and "Giddyup")
“I always wanted to be a cowboy growing up. Maybe I need a mustache to really pull off the look.”
“Ok fine, I'll go try another one.” (Closes closet door)
“Well?” (Opens the closet door and reveals the fourth outfit)
“Yeah, that's fair. It's kinda itchy and smells like sweat anyways.”
“I only have one more outfit to try on, just give me a second.” (Closes closet door)
“Alright, here's the last outfit. What do you think of this?” (Opens the closet door and reveals the fifth outfit)
“What do you mean "surprisingly"?”
“Well, now that I've tried them all on, I just need to decide on one. Which one do you guys think I should choose?”
“That's a great idea. Which one should I choose, [Player]?” (Presents the player with the option to choose Jake's outfit)
“You think I should go with this one?” (If the player does not choose the fourth outfit)
“Wait, you actually like this one? No Copling? On Goppie?” (If the player chooses the fourth outfit)
“Oh... If you say so, I guess...” (If the player says yes to the fourth outfit)
“Alright, let me change and then we can go check out.”
“Thanks, you too.”
“Alright, let's get going. We're all meeting up at the Museum soon, [Player]. Don't forget!”
Atlanthian City - Entertainment District
Outside Atlanthian Museum
“Oh, [Player]! Did you get those tickets for the Battle Theatre?” (The player nods.)
“Awesome, thank you.”
“Almost. Let's discuss what we learned while we were split up first.”
“Let's start with Lucy.” (Turns toward Lucy)
“Well, I suppose that's good for the city's sake, but not great news for us...”
“What about you, Lucas? Were you able to learn anything?” (Turns toward Lucas)
“It's okay, Lucas. Don't beat yourself up over it.”
“Mabel and I talked to several people at Variable Design before we did our shopping. Unfortunately, we didn't learn anything noteworthy.”
“So it seems that there is nothing out of the ordinary going on in Atlanthian City.”
“If a piece of the stone tablet had come here, there would be signs of the corruption which inevitably follows.”
“The folks around here would definitely notice if people and Loomians were acting violently for no reason.”
“That is true. We've still got the museum and Battle Theatre. Maybe we'll find a clue in one of those.”
“Besides, didn't [Player]'s dad mention that we might gain additional insight from this museum tour?”
“Yeah, let's go!”
Atlanthian Museum
“This is a nice surprise. We weren't expecting to see you here.”
“It's in Atlanthian City? Like, inside the dome?”
“I see. That is troubling to consider. What should we do, then?”
“I wonder what it could be.”
“How did the Lost City end up in the ocean in the first place?”
“So wait, the corrupted tablet we've been searching for...”
“...is the tablet that contains Akkuwari's power?”
“The story also mentions that the ancient people of the Lost City tried rebuilding their civilization using the Soul Heart. What happened to them after that?”
“Thanks for the offer. We actually had plans to go watch [Player] tackle the Battle Theatre Challenge while we were in town. We've already got the tickets.”
“Alright, let's head to the Battle Theatre, then. Seeya there, [Player]!”
Atlanthian Battle Theatre
Beating Round 1
“Nothing can stop [Player]. I'm not surprised one bit by that outcome.”
Beating Round 2
“[Player] seems to be keeping it together. This next match sounds like it will be a tough one, though.”
At Lobby
“Yeah, I think I can speak for everyone when I say that there was no way you would lose.”
“That should be no problem. The city is pretty big. There should be plenty to do to keep us busy.”
“Well I think we c-” (Interrupted by a call from Mr. Ferrix)
“Well, if everyone else is for it, then so am I.”
“Yeah, let's not keep Mr. Ferrix waiting. We can do the arcade later.”
“Let's head over to the Ferrix estate.”
“[Player], you probably want to take a quick break at the Loomian Trainer Station on the way.”
“We'll see you there!”
Mr. Ferrix's Mansion
Outside the mansion
“Yep, we're all here now.”
“Yes sir, we're right behind you.”
Inside the mansion
“Wow, this place is really nice! I wonder if it's just Mr. Ferrix and Millia that live here.”
“It's nice to see you in better spirits. You're a lot more talkative now.”
At the dining table
“Who is the Loomian in the picture with you?” (Turns toward Millia)
“There's no need to thank us. We were just doing what any good Loomian Trainers would do.”
“I'm not sure whether [Player]'s dad would like us discussing it with other people. If word got out about what exactly is going on, it could cause problems.”
“Hmmm, maybe.”
“I think it would be ok to share with you what we know. But first, I ask that you keep what I'm about to share private. We want to avoid spreading this information.” (Turns toward Mr. Ferrix)
“That would be perfect.”
“Really fast.”
In the guest room hall
“I think we all know who deserves the room with one bed.” (Turns toward player)
“[Player], after your victory at the Battle Theatre today, I think you deserve to get some solid rest.”
“Well, I'm going to go get ready for bed now. I'll see you all in the morning.”
In the Player's bedroom
“Hey, [Player]. Are you still awake in there?” (Knocks on player's door)
“We didn't wake you up, did we?”
“Sweet!” (Enters the player's room with the group)
“It made it pretty hard to fall asleep.”
“Right now? Like, here in this room?”
“Sure, I'd be ok with that.” (Stands up)
After the battle
“Yeah, I heard it as well.”
“There it is again, even louder!”
“I guess we should help Millia to find whatever creature is making those sounds.”
In Mr. Ferrix's office
“But it sounded like it was coming from this room. We all heard it, right? Where else could it have come from?”
“There it is again! You see what I mean? It's louder in here than in the hallway.”
“That's a good idea.”
After opening the room behind the fireplace
“How strange...”
“Hold on Millia, something doesn't seem right...”
“Hey, look over there!” (Turns toward the corrupted stone)
“That's got to be a piece of that cursed stone tablet we've been searching for! It looks just like the one from POLUT Corp.”
“So is Mr. Ferrix also using the corrupted tablet to experiment on Loomians?”
“It may be too early to say, but it sure does look that way. Regardless, Torty is dangerous if he's been corrupted. Millia, you should–”
“Wait, Millia! Don't–”
After fighting corrupted Torty
“I believe Torty was infected by the corrupted stone in the display case. Whenever people or Loomians come in direct contact with stones like these, they lose control of themselves and become really angry. They'll even attack those that they love, as we've just witnessed. We know this because [Player] has been journeying throughout Roria to collect these corrupted stone pieces, and has had similar encounters.”
“We're lucky that we had a capable trainer like [Player] with us.”
“It is possible that the Samarine which attacked Millia had also come into contact with a stone like the one you found.”
“Actually sir, if you could spare a moment.”
“Well, sir, we wanted to talk to you about that chunk of stone. My friends and I know what it is and where it came from.”
“It's kind of a long story but, I'll try and shorten it since we're short on time.” (Recounts the incidents involving the corrupted tablet to Mr. Ferrix and tells him the group's mission as well as POLUT Corp.'s evil plan)
“I saw it for myself, sir.”
After a group of POLUT Corp. employees enter the room
“I had a feeling that we were being followed ever since we left Sepharite City. What do you want from us?”
“That's right, we are not going to let anyone get hurt.” (Steps forward)
“Right, [Player]?”
After fighting both sets of POLUT Corp. employees
“We're right behind you, Mr. Ferrix. Lead the way.” (Follows Mr. Ferrix to his private dock)
At Mr. Ferrix's private dock
“Mr. Ferrix, does this have something to do with Dr. Vanta and The Lost City?”
“Just tell us what to do, sir. We'll do our best.”
After the events at The Lost City
“The Soul Heart must have been what caused the surge in the Soul Stream and created those odd crystals that allows Loomians to Soul Burst. Dr. Vanta's Stratusoar could only Soul Burst after it received its own crystal.”
“LoomiWatches are powered by a certain type of Soul Crystal, right? Maybe the LoomiWatch's crystal is interacting with the Loomian's crystal somehow to activate the transformation?”
“She calmed down after the Soul Heart was destroyed. Maybe the Soul Heart was somehow the reason she was upset.”
{{{1}}}
“Well Mr. Ferrix, it looks like this is goodbye.”
“Yeah, we ought to make our way there now.”
“Alright everyone, let's go!”
Aranatta Trench
At the baby Moldecca sighting
“If Moldecca played a part in the destruction of The Lost City, then shouldn't we be worried about him being so close to Atlanthian City?”
The Lost City - Temple Ruins
“Thankfully, [Player] was able to clear us a path quickly, so we didn't have to spend too much time all squished together.”
“Wow! Would you look at this place? I can't believe a place like this has been sitting at the bottom of the ocean for who knows how long.”
“Yet, this building in particular has withstood the forces of nature far better than the other structures we passed on the way here. Whatever this place is, it must be very important.”
“I think I see more of POLUT Corp.'s guards up ahead, too. This is definitely the right place.”
“You don't believe in a better future for mankind. I've seen what you were creating in your lab. The Loomian you corrupted was designed for war. The only purpose such a machine could serve is to force others into submission.”
“Don't worry, [Player] and I will make quick work of these guys.” (Starts a Double Battle with the Elite POLUT Guards)
After the battle
“Mr. Ferrix, it's now or never. You and [Player] need to follow Dr. Vanta. The rest of us will stay here and handle this.”
In the Soul Heart chamber
“We took care of all the guards. How is everything down here?”
“Nice work! I knew we could count on you!”
“Mabel, do you know what's going on?”
“Did you see that? The Soul Heart just did something to Stratusoar.”
Dakuda appears
“It must have been hiding in the water this whole time.”
“We can't just back out now. Your motives are driven by blind obsession and a voracity for power. You're playing with powers that you still don't understand. We have no choice but to do everything we can to stop you before this goes too far!”
“It happened again! The Soul Heart gave another piece of itself to its guardian. Does that mean...” (Turns toward player)
“[Player]... your LoomiWatch! It's glowing... Just like Vanta's watch just before his Stratusoar changed and got stronger. That gives me an idea! [Player], I think we can still win. Try using your LoomiWatch to synchronize with the guardian Loomian. We'll give Vanta a taste of his own medicine!”
After defeating Dr. Vanta's Stratusoar
“The Soul Heart seems to have unlocked a new power for Loomians. It allowed them to take on a new, more powerful form. It also gave them the power to use a strong new attack. However, it seems that this transformation uses a lot of the Loomian's strength, and can only last the duration of a battle.”
Despite being in the promotional poster for the v0.2.0 update, Jake does not reappear until the player arrives in Sepharite City.
Jake's line "You certainly are a strong trainer, just like a friend of mine", is a reference to the Player from Pokemon Brick Bronze.
An NPC in POLUT Campus states that Jake had a Searknight, which implies that Jake's Embit had already been fully evolved when the player finishes the Battle Theatre at Sepharite City.
This is confirmed when Jake uses a Searknight in the battle at Mr. Ferrix's Mansion.
Jake's clothes and design were a bit different in the Worlds Apart trailer. They were later changed.
It is possible to find the exact crate that sent Jake into the portal from PBB in the Sepharite Junkyard which is full of Team Eclipse uniforms. Standing next to it is an NPC wearing one of the shirts inside. He says: "Hands off, I saw this crate first. I was just standing here and this crate fell out of a hole in the sky. It nearly hit me. When I opened it, I found all these nice orange shirts. Just in time, too. My last shirt was in rags."
If the player chooses the Metronette outfit for Jake in Atlanthian City, he will ask if the player actually likes the outfit, and makes them swear on Goppie, and no Copling.
This is a reference to the popular slang terms "on God" and "no cap."
In the 2023 Easter Event, along with Lucas and Lucy, a preview of Jake's presumed team was shown in Raid Battles whenever a player challenged Dreggodyne alone.
With this addition, Jake (as well as Lucas and Lucy) was shown with a unique battle pose.
