Loomian Legacy - Veils of Shadow

Loomian Legacy: Veils of Shadow is the first, and currently the only, game in the Loomian Legacy series. It is free to play and is under active development. The game was first announced by Llama Train Studio on January 19^th, 2019 and was released to the public on July 20^th, 2019.

Plot

The game follows the player as they attempt to uncover the mysteries behind the stone tablet found in Mitis Dig Site that causes an outbreak of Corrupt Loomians throughout Roria.

The player begins by visiting the Mitis Dig Site during a storm, where the player's father, with his assistant Derrick, has decrypted the runes on an ancient stone tablet he had previously discovered. However, after the player arrives, the runes glow purple and rearrange themselves before the entire tablet breaks into pieces and flies out of the cave.

Afterwards, the player goes to the Loomian Laboratory, where they are given a Beginner Loomian of choice. After battling the player's in-game mother in an introductory battle, the player is tasked by their in-game father on a journey to find the eight fragments of the tablet and teleport them back to the lab. Throughout the player's journey, they encounter Corrupt Loomians, which have been affected by the stone tablet, thus becoming more powerful and aggressive. The player must defeat corrupt Roaming Loomians and Trainers at set locations in order to find all the tablet fragments. Along the way the player will challenge the Battle Theaters and their Battle Stars. The player later meets Lucas, Lucy, Mabel, and Jake on their adventure who help find the pieces of the tablet.

Features

This game features 290 species of Loomians, 288 of which are currently obtainable. Players can trade Loomians with each other and compete in Loomian Battles with wild Loomians, in-game characters and other players.

The game also features Battle Theatres, which are three-stage challenges composed of puzzles of increasing difficulty, each followed by a Loomian battle. At the last stage, the player will fight against the theatre's Battle Star, who will award the player a medal and a useful application upon victory.

Trivia

• Loomian Legacy: Veils of Shadow takes place in the same region, but in an alternate universe as its "prequel" game Pokémon Brick Bronze which was shut down on April 21^st, 2018 due to a copyright claim.
  • Almost all mechanics are identical or very similar to those of Pokémon Brick Bronze, though the names and assets used have been changed to avoid infringing on Nintendo's intellectual property.
  • Various features and character dialogues in-game seem to suggest that Loomian Legacy: Veils of Shadow, while taking place in the same region and alternate universe of Pokémon Brick Bronze, also takes place in the future of said alternate universe.
