This page lists rules and guidelines that all users are expected to follow on the Loomian Legacy Wiki, including the Discussions Board, blogs, and article comments. These guidelines are meant to cover general cases, and they will not cover every possible scenario. If you have any questions about these guidelines or moderation concerns, please reach out to a staff member.
General Guidelines
Fandom's Terms of Use
Fandom's Terms of Use are present across all Fandom wikis. Everyone is expected to follow these terms. This includes that you are at least 13 years of age. All users are also expected to adhere to the Community Guidelines and the Licensing Policies.
For underage users, the blocking policy is detailed in the flow chart below. Essentially, underage users can only be blocked if they themselves admit that they are underage. Evidence provided by other users can be false or misleading.
Civility
All users are expected to be kind, civil, and respectful towards fellow users. As long as conversations are rule-abiding, differing opinions are welcome. Respect others' boundaries; if your actions make another user feel uncomfortable, acknowledge or cease the action. Harassment and hate speech towards any users or groups of people will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Rules
The following rules are expected to be followed; punishments for breaking them range from warnings to blocks. If someone breaks these rules, please report them to staff members who are active on the Discussions Board.
Community Relations
- Harassment will not be tolerated. Continued pestering and intentional annoyance are not allowed.
- Do not use foul language or vulgar words. These include slang terms to describe something inappropriate or discriminatory.
- Do not post inappropriate content. This includes adult content, NSFW, or content young viewers may be uncomfortable with.
- Any replies on a post should be on-topic. A discussion that derails significantly from its original course may be locked.
- Do not spam on posts or cause harmful trolling.
- Do not proceed to extensively talk about any of your personal or religious beliefs as this may stir controversy. Debate or extensive discussion about these beliefs will be locked or deleted.
- Do not stir up trouble on other wikis, especially while showing it off here. Causing significant problems in other communities will warrant a block.
Disputes
- Do not attempt to intentionally cause unnecessary fighting.
- Do not escalate existing disputes.
- Please do not make new posts discussing the issue, as it only makes it worse and causes moderation to become more difficult.
- Do not mini-mod by acting like a moderator with authority. If you see a problem that needs to be moderated, immediately call a staff member instead.
Alternate Accounts
- Impersonation of anyone will immediately result in a block. This includes impersonating developers, YouTubers, staff members, community members, and anyone else.
- Creating alternate accounts for no purpose will result in those accounts being blocked, though the main account will stay. Such accounts make it harder to keep track of users, so they are not allowed.
- Creating alternate accounts to avoid a block will prolong the original block. Do not attempt to circumvent punishments.
Advertising
- Posts advertising YouTube videos, Roblox items, Discord servers, and similar content should be limited. One advertisement post should only be made for roughly ten other posts. This is a guideline, not a number to be taken literally. Any excessive advertisement will result in warnings.
- Do not create new posts to advertise existing posts or blogs.
- Do not advertise on other posts that are not related.
Loomian Legacy
- Do not scam other users. If you are caught to have scammed players in Loomian Legacy, regardless of whether the victims are members of the Wiki or not, you will be blocked immediately.
- Abide to other Trade Resort rules and guidelines:
- Do not attempt to start a middleman service that involves the two parties trading their Loomians to the middleman. Though this service is only discouraged and not fully prohibited by Trade Resort rules, such a service often leads to scamming, so any middleman attempts on the wiki will be deleted.
- Do not cross-trade Loomians for other currencies, such as Robux or real-life money. Loomians are intended to be traded for Loomians only.
- Do not proceed to request free Loomians or items. Doing so will result in a warning.
Creative Works and Plagiarism
- Do not steal the work of others and pass it off as your own.
- Do not steal art. If you are posting art that is not yours, please credit the original artist. If you are making an edit of existing artwork, be sure to clarify that the original work is not yours.
- Do not steal others' writing or other works, like music.
- Do not repost art made by blocked users.
- Be respectful with your creative works, as they are meant to be fun. Creative work that is used to harass someone or make them uncomfortable will be taken down. The same applies for other rules, so inappropriate work will also not be tolerated.
Miscellaneous
- Do not attempt to revive posts that have been inactive for over a week unless it is absolutely necessary. This is referred to as necroposting. If you come across an old help post and want to ask a similar question, simply create a new post.
- Do not like other users' posts in a deliberate attempt to clog their notifications or in an attempt to get a post higher in the "Hot" category.
- Listen to moderators and use common sense. These rules cannot cover every possible scenario, so some cases will be up for moderator discretion. If a moderator tells you to stop doing something, then please stop.
Moderation System
The moderation actions listed below are flexible. It is up to moderator discretion to make the call in scenarios that fall in a gray area.
- Moderators can say informal warnings to tell users to not do something. Users should listen but not feel intimidated.
- For more serious cases, moderators can issue a formal warning on a user's Message Wall. There are no practical impacts that come directly from a formal warning, but these warnings should be heeded carefully.
- A user can be blocked (the Fandom term for banning) immediately if they commit a very serious offense. Additionally, a user that receives around three warnings for moderate infractions may also receive a block. This block can be temporary or permanent, and the length is dependent on the severity of the rule-breaking.
Appeals
- If you are blocked and wish to appeal that block, you may contact a staff member on Community Central via that staff member's Message Wall.
- Additional contact can be made by Direct Messaging a staff member on Discord through the Loomian Legacy Wiki Discord server.
- Your appeal may be rejected. An accepted appeal does not necessarily mean an immediate unblock, but it could mean a shorter block.
Moderator Expectations
Moderators are expected to follow the guidelines below. In return, regular members are expected to treat moderators with respect and understand that they are also people. Moderators cannot moderate the Discussions Board all the time and expect certain matters to be handled maturely by the community without a need for moderator intervention.
- Moderators are expected to follow all of the above rules.
- Moderators are expected to enforce the rules fairly.
- Moderators are expected to care for the community and its members.
- Moderators are not allowed to abuse their power (e.g., blocking erratically or using their authority to unfairly threaten others).
