Mabel

Mabel is a young trainer first seen at Cheshma Town. She is currently traveling through Roria with her friends Lucy, Lucas, Jake, and the player, embarking on a quest to aid the player in finding all pieces of the Stone Tablet.

History[]

When Mabel was young, she was involved in an accident with a Loomian. This caused her mother to believe that she was too weak and unfit for Loomian battling, and did not allow her to train any Loomians. At some point in her childhood, she became best friends with Lucy and Lucas. Mabel was soon sent off by her mother to a Loomian school at Cheshma Town; Mabel believes this is because her mother thought it was not worth her time to teach Mabel herself.

Mabel is first seen in the game when she, along with Lucy and Lucas, was kicked out of the Trainer School at Cheshma Town. The teacher explains that Mabel believes strategy does not matter in Loomian battles and that only pure, raw strength and endurance is needed to win. Next, the player meets Mabel again at the starting path on Route 4, where she is irritated when the player uses the LoomiWatch App "Stunning Flash" to clear the path of darkness. She orders Lucy and Lucas to battle the player. After the player wins, the three leave for Sepharite City.

In Sepharite City, Lucas approaches the player to apologize. Mabel and Lucy arrive shortly later, scolding him for buying the incorrect snacks for their plans of watching a battle in the Sepharite Battle Theatre, buying Power Bagels instead of sushi. Mabel then commands Lucy and Lucas to battle the player once again, as Lucas would like to invite the player to come along for a tour of POLUT Corp. Headquarters. Once the player wins, they meet them in POLUT Campus.

The mysterious trainer, who later introduces himself as Jake, then arrives in the campus, which causes Mabel to start acting oddly, as noted by Lucy and Lucas. The group takes a tour of POLUT Campus and heads to the cafeteria for lunch. The others make a plan to team up and help the player on their adventure; when asked whether she would join them, Mabel breaks down and tells about her past insecurities. After Jake shares his story, Mabel decided that her future is hers to change, and agrees to help the player.

Mabel and Starla — Mabel becomes a Loomian Trainer.

Mabel then meets the player along with her crew on Route 8, where she expresses concern for Jake about the safety of his last stunt. A man walks up to the group with a Loomian following him, explaining that he needs a trainer to take the Loomian. Lucy volunteers, but the Loomian leaps towards Mabel. At first Mabel is uneasy, but the group encourages her to take it. She finally agrees, naming it Starla, and promises to train with it.

Appearance[]

Mabel has short, curly orange hair and bright green eyes. She wears a sleeveless black and orange dress, with a broken heart symbol on it. She also wears black shoes and has two bracelets on her arm.

Personality[]

On the outside, Mabel is extremely rude and cold, almost egotistical. She disregards other's opinions and commands her best friends. It is later revealed that this may all stem from her past insecurities; Mabel is unsure of her abilities and whether she can become a Loomian Trainer. After freeing herself from her doubts, she seems much more confident and determined, as noted by Lucy. It is also shown that she has a soft, friendlier side toward her friends, the player and especially Jake.

Relationships[]

Lucy and Lucas[]

It first seems that Mabel acts very cold towards these two, constantly scolding them and commanding them to battle the player. Yet, in POLUT Campus, Mabel admits that they are her best friends and that she is grateful for all that they have done for her.

Player[]

When the player first meets Mabel, she is very hostile towards them. She argues with their concept of Loomian battling, ordering Lucy and Lucas to battle them after being irritated on Route 4 and later in Sepharite City. In POLUT Campus, she decides to aid the player on their adventure and seems to leave on good terms.

Jake[]

These two first meet in POLUT Campus, and Mabel takes a special interest in Jake, in stark contrast to her usual behavior. Later on, Jake helps Mabel overcome her own insecurities about herself by sharing his story. She also tried to name Starla after him.

Mabel's Mother[]

Based on Mabel retelling her backstory, it would appear as she does not maintain a good relationship with her mother. After her accident, Mabel's mother labeled her as weak and unfit for Loomian training. This led Mabel to echo the same thoughts and become afraid to train Loomians. Mabel claims she has never been able to do anything she enjoys because of these insecurities. Yet, after Jake's pep talk, Mabel states that she will no longer let her mother's words hold her back, and will live her future the way she wants to.

“Don't bother, we aren't coming back.”
“Don't worry, we're leaving this lame town.”
“I don't need a school to help me learn about Loomians. I can do it my own!”
“Hey you, are you here for the school? You look pretty weak, so I bet you are. Well, don't waste your time with this place. Loomian battles don't require any training or strategy. The only thing that matters is sheer power.”
“I've already wasted enough time here.”
“Lucy... Lucas... Let's get out of here!”

Route 4
“Hey, are you trying to blind us with that?”
“Quiet, Lucas. Nobody cares.”
“Oh. Right you are, Lucy.”
“What is your name, anyways?”
“[Player], huh? Well, [Player], you thought you would follow us around and catch us off guard, did you?”
“Quiet, Lucas. Nobody asked you.”
“Well, we didn't ask for anyone's help, did we?”
“I think we need to teach [Player] a lesson. Lucy, why don't you take it from here?”
“Lucy, I'm disappointed.”
“Enough excuses. Lucas, you're up. Teach this kid not to mess with us.”
“Enough from you, Lucas! You and your sister have to push your Loomians harder.”
“I've had enough of this.”
“Don't think your battles with my friends mean anything.”
“If we cross paths again, you won't be so lucky.”
“Lucas, Lucy, let's go.”

Sepharite City
“There you are, Lucas.”
“What took you so long, and why are you talking to this loser?”
“Great, not only is the Battle Theatre closed, but you also brought us the wrong snacks?”
“Yeah, the ticket dork inside said that the Battle Star is off at POLUT Corp. getting some of her cyber gear tuned.”
“POLUT Corp. does sound like it would be an interesting place to visit.”
“I heard that POLUT Corp has very recently been designing and manufacturing new Loomians to take care of the city.”
“Hold on Lucas!”
“I'm okay with going on a tour of POLUT Corp., but why are you inviting them?”
“Two Battle Theatre medals, huh?”
“Well, let's make a deal then.”
“If Player can beat you and Lucy in battle, they can come with us.”
“Zip it, Lucas!”
“Not bad, [Player].”
“Now let's see how you do against Lucy.”
“Well I hate to admit it but you aren't so bad in battle.”
“Yeah, we agreed on it, didn't we?”
“Well, let's not just stand around here all day. The entrance to POLUT Corp. is back on the other end of town. We'll wait for you outside their main office building.”
“Don't keep us waiting.”

“Took you long enough.”
“They aren't cute, Lucy.”
“Most of them are made to pick up trash and filter the air.”
“Alright, well if we're all here, let's go on in.”
“Hey [Player], who's your friend?” (Shoves Player aside, heart particles float around Mabel's head)
“My name is Mabel, and these are my friends, Lucy and Lucas.”
“So you know this loser too, huh? What's a guy like you doin' hanging out someone like [Player]?”
“Oh, you are a trainer too.”
“My friends and I are all trainers.”
“AHEM, so what brings you out here today, Jake?”
“No way! We were about to take a tour of POLUT Corp. headquarters.”
“Why don't you come along with us?”
“Oh Jake, you're so funny. We're going to make great friends! I can tell.”

“That's pretty neat, right Jake?”
“I was just thinking the same thing, Jake.” (Turns to Jake)

“The cafeteria? I don't know what I was expecting, but it wasn't this.”
Inside the Cafeteria
“So is that what's been causing all those Loomians to go rogue?”
“Sounds like you've been through a lot, huh Jake?”
“Leave Jake alone, Lucas.”
“Oh, so mysterious...”
“I like that.”
“Anyway, so [Player], you said you've found two of those weird stones?”
“If there are eight in total, you still have a long way to go, right?”
“I...”
“I can't.”
“My mom won't let me have my own Loomians!”
“...”
“When I was a kid, well...”
“There was an accident.”
“My mother wouldn't let me train Loomians after that. I failed my mother, and how she thinks of me as useless. She recently sent me away to learn about Loomians from a school Chesma Town. I guess she didn't think it was worth her time to try and teach me herself.But that school only reminded me of my failure, so we left. My best friends in the whole world, Lucas and Lucy, came with because they didn't want me to have to go alone. Now we're just wandering about...”
“I'm just a failure, and I'm too afraid of training with Loomians.”
“I've not been able to enjoy anything in life because I've been labeled as a failure for so long. I can't live like that anymore. Starting today, I'm not going to let what my mother thinks hold me back anymore. [Player], count me in. If there is anything Lucy, Lucas, or I can do to help, we'll do it!”
“Wow, it's been an hour already? That went by so quickly!”
“Let's talk more outside.”
After the Tour
“We could try asking around at the Battle Theatre. After all, people gather there from all around. It would be a good place to gather information.”
“And weren't you going to challenge the Battle Theatre, [Player]?”
“Aww, do you really have to go already?”
“Bye Jake!”
“We'll ask around and see if we can find any information on your missing stone piece, too.”
“Don't you dare lose or I'm going to be really mad. I'm only kidding. Let's go guys.”

Route 8
At the pier
“What took you so long, [Player]? Oh well, it doesn't matter. The good thing is we all made it and Jake is safe.”
“Oh my gosh! You're so brave, Jake. Something bad could have happened to you. I'm glad that you're safe, though.”
“Well, we're not too far away from Atlanthian City. ”
“Are you talking about that time you two ditched me for a whole summer?”
“Eeeeek! It's going to eat me!” (Starla comes over the Mabel)
“Ew, it licked me!”
“What do you mean?” (Turns to Jake)
“Hm, I guess so.”
“Yeah, but... What if I mess up again?” (Kneels down to Loomian)
“You guys... I don't know what to say. I... I'll do it.”
“It must be, if Lucy has never heard of it.”
“Oh, ummm, okay. How about... Jake.”
“Fine. How about... Starla?”
“Thanks, guys. This means a lot to me. I am excited to start training!”
“Okay, I can do that.” (Turns to Jake)
“I would like to try battling some wild Loomians along the way.”

“Well, we finally made it to the beach.”
“I don't think I like the sound of living in a giant bubble. What do you think, Starla?” (Turns to Starla)

“Gosh, when you put it like that, it makes me feel really nervous...”
“You're right, Jake.”
“I feel a lot better now.”
“I'm ready to try my best.”

Atlanthian City - Transit Hub

“The ride here was so fun! I could ride in a submarine all day long.”

“The Battle Theatre is there too, right?”
“My name is Mabel.”
“Well, where do we start looking? Atlanthian is so big, and there are so many places here to search for clues.”
“In that case, Jake and I will head toward Variable Design and look around there. Jake could use a new wardrobe. No offense, Jake, but you dress like you're from another planet.”
“Oh, [Player], you plan to challenge the Battle Theatre while we're here, right? You should go get us tickets so we can all watch you when you take on the Battle Theatre Challenge!”
“Awesome! It's settled. Let's split up for now, and rendezvous at Atlanthian Museum later. [Player], come find us all after you've gotten the tickets.”
“Alright, come on Jake! Follow me.”
