Soul Burst

Soul Burst is a mechanic that temporarily transforms certain Loomians in battle. It grants immense power to the Loomian during the transformation, along with a powerful, single-use signature move called a Soul Move.

Mechanics

When a Loomian is equipped with its respective Burst Crystal, the player may tap or click on the "Soul Burst" icon in battle to make it transform into its Soul Burst form. This form will last for the duration of the battle and will allow it to use its Soul Move once. While in this form, the base stats, Ability and sometimes the Type of that Loomian will change. Multiple Loomians in a player's party can hold a Burst Crystal, but the player can only initiate one Soul Burst transformation per battle.

Trivia

• Soul Burst resembles certain transformation mechanics in other games, such as Mega Evolution and Gigantamax from the Pokémon series, as well as Soul Moves resembling Z-Moves.
• Dakuda, Metronette, and Celesting are the currently the only Roaming Loomians who can Soul Burst.
• Soul Burst Loomians do not have event reskins.
  • If a Loomian with an event reskin Soul Bursts (ex. Valentine’s Florant or Nutcracker Metronette), it will look the same as it would without a reskin.
    • The only exceptions to this are Icigool, whose different colorations carry over to its Soul Burst form, and Halloween Dakuda, whose skeletal appearance and colored aura appear in its Soul Burst form.
    • However, if a Loomian with a reskin that is in its Alpha or Gamma Gleam Soul Bursts, the Soul Burst Loomian will have its respective Alpha or Gamma coloration from its normal form applied instead of the reskin coloration.
