Status ailments are effects that impair a Loomian during battle.
Non-volatile ailments[]
Non-volatile ailments are ailments that a Loomian keeps outside of battle and while switched out. A Loomian already affected by a non-volatile ailment cannot receive a new one.
Cures[]
These ailments can be removed by different types of medicine, moves that generally cure ailments such as Wonder Herb, or treatment at a Loomian Care facility. When affected by a non-volatile ailment, a Loomian has an icon displaying which ailment it is. Loomians with the Ability Immunized are immune to all non-volatile ailments and Loomians with the Ability Mysterious Cloak are not affected by any effects of status ailments that may damage them residually. The Mysterious Dust item has a 1/3 (33.33%) chance of curing a Loomian of a status ailment and is purchasable in the Colosseum Marketplace for 48 CP.
List[]
Ailment | Description |
---|---|
Burn | Reduces a Loomian's melee attack power by half and deals 1/16th of a Loomian's maximum health each turn. Fire-type Loomians are unaffected by this ailment. |
Freeze | Reduces a Loomian's energy by 1/8th each turn. Ice-type Loomians are unaffected by this ailment. |
Paralyze | Reduces a Loomian's speed by 50% and gives them a 25% chance to be unable to move in their turn. Electric-type Loomians are unaffected by this ailment. |
Poison | Poison comes in two forms. The first form inflicts 1/8th of a Loomian's maximum health as damage each turn. The second form (bad poison) starts by inflicting 1/16th of a Loomian's maximum health as damage and increases by 1/16th each turn. Toxic-type Loomians are unaffected by this ailment. |
Sleep | Makes a Loomian unable to use moves on their turn. When a Loomian wakes up, they are able to use a move that turn. It lasts 1–3 turns normally, except for Beast's Slumber, which makes the user sleep for exactly 3 turns. The Loomian affected by this status ailment may wake up if attacked by any Loomian in battle. |
Volatile ailments[]
Volatile ailments are ailments that a Loomian is cured of after battle or when switching out. Loomians can be affected by multiple volatile ailments at the same time. There is no icon indicator for being affected by this kind of ailment.
List[]
Many volatile ailments are unique to one move, but some can be inflicted by a multitude of moves and are underlined in the table.
Ailment | Description |
---|---|
Beast's Slumber | In addition to inflicting Sleep, Beast's Slumber restores ⅓ of the max Health and ¼ of the max Energy of the user each turn while asleep and raises the user's Melee and Ranged Defenses by one stage. Drops the user's Melee and Ranged Defense by one stage when it wakes up. |
Blood Drain | Blood Drain, in addition to its initial effect, drains the target's health each turn. |
Cannot Retreat | A Loomian that cannot retreat is prevented from being switched out or using Run as long as the Loomian that trapped it is on the field. |
Daze | Daze gives a Loomian a ⅓ chance of attacking itself with a Melee attack of 40 Strength instead of using a move for one to four turns. |
Déjà Vu | Déjà Vu forces the afflicted Loomian to use the same move it used the previous turn for three turns. |
Flinch | Flinching makes a Loomian unable to move for a turn. A Loomian can only flinch if it is hit by another Loomian's move before using its move. Loomians with the ability Confidence are immune to flinching. |
Fungus Curse | Fungus Curse switches the effectiveness of Light- and Dark-type moves against Plant-type Loomians for all Loomians in a battle. |
Pestilence/Quicksand | Pestilence and Quicksand prevent the target from switching and damages the target for four to five turns. The effect stops when the user is withdrawn or knocked out. |
Power Siphon | Power Siphon, in addition to its initial effect, drains the target's energy each turn and is given to the user. |
Provoke | Provoke makes a Loomian unable to use Support moves for three turns. |
Sap Plant | Sap Plant inflicts a status that drains 1/8th of the target's maximum health and heals the amount drained from the opponent. Plant-type Loomians are unaffected by this ailment. |
Tease | Tease makes a Loomian unable to use the same move twice in a row. |
Trivia[]
- If a Loomian is afflicted with the sleep or paralysis status ailments, escapes a Capture Disc, and is unable to move, a minor glitch will occur where the camera won't zoom back out, and it will remain in this state until the turn is over.
