Weather Conditions are mechanics in the Loomian Legacy series which have effects on wild Loomian encounters.
Just like in the real world, different weather conditions occur in the game and may change frequently as well.
Details[]
Weather conditions can change rather rapidly in Roria. The weather changes every hour of real time, sometimes switching to drastically different locations. Certain places are affected by weather in their sub-areas. For example, if it is raining heavily in Heiwa Cemetery, then Route 5 will also experience the same weather.
Locations experiencing adverse weather will have their music replaced with a special track belonging to that weather condition. The weather condition will also apply a special effect to that area, such as different lighting or effects. Weather conditions also apply certain battle effects on the battlefield.
Overworld weather conditions do not occur in indoor or sheltered areas such as Igneus Hollow, POLUT Campus, or Aranatta Trench. Areas which do not have regular wild encounter patches, such as Bob's Pond, Heiwa Village or Sepharite City, are also not affected by overworld inclement weather.
Weather Forecast[]
Players can view the weather forecast via the "Weather" tab in the "Navigate" app on the LoomiWatch. The forecast goes up to four hours ahead. Times will be shown relative to the player's local time zone, and all servers will experience the same weather at the same time.
Weather Conditions[]
As of now, adverse weather conditions available in Loomian Legacy - Veils of Shadow are Heavy Rainfall, Strong Gusts, Dense Fog, Smoldering Heat and Severe Thunderstorm.
Fine[]
The sky is clear. This is the regular weather condition, with no special effects.
Adverse Weather[]
Heavy Rainfall[]
This is the first inclement weather condition introduced in-game. Game visibility is significantly reduced, as the sky becomes dark while the area becomes affected by a rainstorm, and distant thunder can be heard. The day-night cycle is temporarily suspended. The downpour also hampers visibility of distant locations. Hydrini has a 1/64 (1.56%) chance to be encountered in areas experiencing heavy rainfall. Wild Hydrini have a 10% chance to drop the "Rainfall" Profile Background when capturing or knocking one out.
This weather condition is also the first kind of inclement weather that the player experiences, as during the intro to the game, Heavy Rainfall is occurring before the Stone Tablet shatters.
While Heavy Rainfall is affecting the battlefield, Water-type moves deal 25% more damage, Fire-type moves deal 25% less damage, and Plant-type Loomians will restore 1/16th of their max Health at the end of each turn. Heavy Rainfall can be summoned by the move Downpour or the Ability Rain Summon. Loomians with the Ability Pluvial will restore 1/16th of their max Health at the end of each turn. Loomians with the Ability Rain Rush will have double their Speed stat in battle.
Strong Gusts[]
This is the second adverse weather condition introduced in game. A chime-like noise is made. The sky is clear, but the player can hear and see wind blowing. Pipsee has a 1/64 (1.56%) chance to be encountered in areas experiencing strong gusts. Vari evolves into Zepholen when leveled up once in areas experiencing Strong Gusts. Wild Pipsee have a 10% chance to drop the "Cool Breeze" Profile Background when capturing or knocking one out.
While Strong Gusts are prevailing on the battlefield, all Retreat-Preventing moves and Abilities that trap in Loomians will not trap them and all Air-type Loomians have a 10% increase in Speed. Strong Gusts can be summoned by the move Gale Force or the Ability Wind Summon. Loomians with the Ability Tumultuous will deal 30% more damage.
Dense Fog[]
This is the third adverse weather condition introduced in game. Game visibility is hampered significantly and thick, purple clouds cover the affected area. Wispur has a 1/64 (1.56%) chance to be encountered in areas experiencing Dense Fog. Wild Wispur have a 10% chance to drop the "Shrouded Path" Profile Background when capturing or knocking one out.
While the battlefield is shrouded by Dense Fog, all Abilities of non-Spirit-type Loomians are nullified except for Loomians with Gloomy, Festive Spirit, Adaptable or Cosmic Pressure, and all Spirit-type Loomians' two-turn moves become one-turn moves, skipping its invulnerable state. Dense Fog can be summoned by the move Hazy Shroud or the Ability Fog Summon.
Smoldering Heat[]
This is the fourth adverse weather condition introduced in game. Under the influence of extreme heat, the sky becomes sunny and is given a orange hue. Fire sparks and smoke will rise from the ground. Smoal has a 1/64 (1.56%) chance to be encountered in areas experiencing Smoldering Heat. Wild Smoal have a 10% chance to drop the "Heat Wave" Profile Background when capturing or knocking one out.
If Smoldering Heat is dominating the battlefield, Fire-type moves deal 25% more damage, Water-type moves deal 25% less damage, and any Ice-type Loomians on the field will be damaged for 1/16th of their max Health at the end of each turn. Smoldering Heat can be summoned by the move Heat Wave or the Ability Heat Summon. Loomians with the Ability Inferno will have their Ranged Attack increased by 50% at the cost of losing 1/8th of their maximum Health after each turn.
Severe Thunderstorm[]
This is the fifth inclement weather condition introduced in game. Similar to Heavy Rainfall, the sky becomes overcast and the area is affected by a rainstorm. Game visibility is also reduced. The main difference is that lightning sporadically strikes down on the land in Severe Thunderstorm, while only distant thunder is heard under Heavy Rainfall. Nymvolt has a 1/64 (1.56%) chance to be encountered in areas experiencing Severe Thunderstorm. Wild Nymvolt have a 10% chance to drop the "Booming Skies" Profile Background when capturing or knocking one out.
If the battlefield is affected by Severe Thunderstorm, the damage and accuracy of all Electric-type moves will be increased by 25%. Electric-type moves whose accuracy is made above 100% due to the buff will become "Sure Hit" moves, being able to bypass Dodge. In addition, Loomians cannot fall asleep, and those who are will be awoken immediately upon entering the field with Severe Thunderstorm active. Severe Thunderstorm can be summoned by the move Thunderstorm or the Ability Thunder Summon.
Event Conditions[]
Meteor Showers[]
Meteor Showers are only available for a limited time during Meteor Shower Events. However, during the 2024 Loomunity Event, Meteor Showers exclusively appeared in Loomunity Park. They can occur at the same time as other weather conditions, but in different places. While it is technically an astronomical phenomenon rather than a weather condition, it is still shown on the weather forecast on LoomiWatch.
Meteor Showers can only appear on Routes 3, 4 or 6. The route is temporarily set to overnight for the duration of this celestial event. Meteors are seen falling on the ground, all of which would be one of eight different colors. Cosmiore has a 1/128 (0.78%) chance to be encountered in areas experiencing meteor showers. Meteorites of the shower's color fall on the ground in the overworld and can be collected by players by simply walking over them. Matterites or Antimatterites have a 1/50 (2%) chance to fall in place of a Meteorite.
For the Meteor Shower event in 2021, four colors were introduced: red, blue, green and purple. When the event returned in 2022, four more colors were introduced: pink, orange, brown and teal. During the 2024 Loomunity Event, all colors were available.
Egg Rain[]
Egg Rain is only available for a limited time during Easter Events. It can occur at the same time as other weather conditions, but in different places.
Egg Rain could appear on Routes 3, 4, 6, or 8. It could also occur at Cheshma Town, in Silvent City, Heiwa Village, Sepharite Junkyard, or Atlanthian City. The route or settlement is temporarily set to daytime and is given a slight pinkish hue. Eggs are seen falling on the ground, all of which would be one of five different kinds during the 2023 Easter Event or four different kinds during the 2024 Easter Event. Collecting an egg during the 2023 Easter Event had a 83.33% (5/6) chance of being an Easter Egg and a 16.67% (1/6) chance of being a Kyeggo. During the 2024 Easter Event, collecting an egg had a 75% (3/4) chance of being an Easter Egg and a 25% (1/4) chance of being a Kyeggo.

Trivia[]
- On April 1st, 2021 and 2022, as an April Fools' trick, Igneus Hollow and POLUT Campus were affected by Heavy Rainfall and Strong Gusts simultaneously, even though they are indoor areas and should not be directly affected by weather conditions under normal circumstances.
- Weather-exclusive Loomians can be found in any area within the same "loading zone" as the area currently being affected by weather. For example, if Sepharite Junkyard is experiencing Strong Gusts, then Pipsee can also be found on Route 7.
